Eating Disorders Can Be Directly Related To Emotional Disturbances
Weight Gain and emotional eating is prevalent among women and so is the opposite condition of weight gain fear. Weight gain fear is a much more serious issue for the associating psychological and physical disorders that surround this condition can be life threatening if taken to an extreme.
Emotional eating can be caused by a number of factors - many women use eating as an outlet for the release of stress, others may use it as a replacement for other habits that they may be trying to break such as smoking. I'm surprised that it only affects 1 of 2500 teen girls. You would think that will all the MTV videos and fashion-hype that more teens would be affected.
