Weight Gain Fear Success Story
Growing up I was always over weight. My friends would always ask me why I was so fat because during lunch hour in the cafeteria they would only witness me eating small amounts of food. The truth is that I was embarrassed to eat food around them and extremely self-conscious. What they didn't see is that right before class I would wobble over to McDonalds to stuff a few Big Macs in my mouth before class.
I was about 14 yrs old and taking a trip to Chicago when it really hit me. I got on the plane and could not put the seat belt on. The regular seat belt was too small for me and I not knowing that this was the correct size of the belt strap and thinking it was broken I went over to the flight attendant and told her that there must be something wrong with the seat belt for it does not fit. She proceeded to the front of the aircraft and came back with an extension. "Here is your extension," she said in a quiet whisper as she slipped it to me like some sort of secret letter.
From that moment on I realized that I needed to lose weight. Within 12 months I lost 100 lbs and went from 290 lbs to 190 lbs. I am now 24 years old and weigh 180 lbs - Being 5 "11" that is not bad. Realizing that I did not want to live this way anymore was the first step on my journey to a healthy and happy life.
Mind you I always need to be careful for genetically - if I do not watch what I eat and exercise regularly I can gain weight faster than most people can eat an orange.
Hopefully this submission can influence other people that may be overweight and give them the needed inspiration to lose it.
All the best
